Detroit, MI (August 10, 2025) – A Sunday afternoon crash at the intersection of Webb St and Woodward Ave in Detroit left at least one person injured and prompted a response from local police and EMS crews. The collision blocked portions of the intersection while first responders assisted the injured and worked to clear the scene.
Medics treated the victim at the location before arranging transport to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The number of vehicles involved has not yet been confirmed, and Detroit Police are investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
Woodward Ave is one of Detroit’s busiest corridors, carrying both local and commuter traffic through numerous residential and commercial districts. Intersections like Webb St often see heavy vehicle flow, and the combination of turning traffic, multiple lanes, and pedestrian activity can increase the risk of collisions.
Our thoughts go out to the victims as we hope for their recovery.
Car Accidents in Michigan
Michigan State Police data shows that urban intersections with high traffic volumes are frequent sites for injury-causing accidents. Contributing factors often include distracted driving, speeding, and failing to yield while turning. In busy city environments like Detroit, these risks are amplified by the mix of passenger vehicles, buses, cyclists, and pedestrians sharing the roadway.
Drivers can lower their chances of being involved in such collisions by reducing speeds in high-traffic zones, scanning for cross traffic, and anticipating sudden stops. Defensive driving and attentiveness are especially important on multi-lane roads where visibility can be limited by larger vehicles.
