Dover, WI (June 10, 2025) – Emergency responders were quick to the scene, providing care to the injured victims after a serious rollover accident early Sunday morning in the Town of Dover, located in western Racine County. The crash took place just before 2:00 a.m. in the 1700 block of CTH N near the intersection with Sunnyside Dr and Minnetonka Dr.
Kansasville Fire and Rescue Department (KFRD), along with multiple supporting agencies, responded swiftly to reports of a single-vehicle rollover involving a 2005 Ford Excursion. Upon arrival, crews discovered a severely damaged SUV with seven occupants either inside or around the wreckage. One individual was reportedly trapped inside the vehicle, while another was believed to have been ejected during the crash as the vehicle rolled several times before landing upright.
Firefighters and medics worked urgently to stabilize the vehicle and safely extricate the trapped passenger. At the same time, additional personnel triaged and treated the remaining individuals. Multiple ambulances from neighboring departments were dispatched to assist, ultimately transporting five injured individuals to nearby medical facilities. Two Kansasville ambulances took three victims to Aurora Medical Center – Mount Pleasant, while additional patients were transported by Rochester Volunteer Fire Company and Norway Fire Department units. Fortunately, the two remaining individuals evaluated at the scene declined further medical assistance.
While the injuries sustained in this devastating incident are not believed to be life-threatening, the emotional and physical toll on those involved remains significant. The Racine County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into the cause of the crash, including whether any contributing factors such as speed, road conditions, or impairment played a role.
Our thoughts are with the injured individuals and their families during this difficult time.
Rollover Accidents in Wisconsin
Rollover accidents, like the one that occurred on CTH N in Dover, often result in some of the most severe injuries seen on Wisconsin roadways. Vehicles such as large SUVs—like the Ford Excursion involved in this crash—have a higher center of gravity, making them more prone to rollovers, particularly at higher speeds or during abrupt maneuvers. These types of accidents commonly lead to traumatic injuries, especially when vehicle occupants are not properly restrained or when occupants are ejected during the crash.
Across Wisconsin, rural roads in areas such as Racine County can present unique dangers. Narrow lanes, limited street lighting, and curves can all increase the likelihood of losing control of a vehicle, especially during late-night or early-morning hours when visibility is reduced and fatigue may be a factor. In rollover collisions, the risk of serious injury is compounded when passengers are not wearing seatbelts, emphasizing the critical importance of always using proper restraints.
Victims of rollover crashes frequently endure more than just physical injuries. Emotional trauma, financial burdens from medical bills, and challenges with insurance claims can create long-lasting impacts on those involved. Understanding your rights after such an incident is vital, as injured parties can seek compensation for their losses.
If you or someone you know has been involved in a serious rollover accident, you do not have to face the aftermath alone. Getting the proper support can make a significant difference in both recovery and securing the compensation deserved.
