Dry Ridge, KY (January 16, 2026) – A devastating head-on collision on Taft Hwy claimed the lives of two women on January 14, including 35-year-old Brandy Nash, a beloved mother of three. The crash occurred around 11 a.m., prompting a multi-agency emergency response to the scene just outside Dry Ridge.
Kentucky State Police confirmed that the crash happened when an 81-year-old woman driving one of the vehicles veered into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a pickup truck. Both the elderly driver and Brandy Nash, who was in the front passenger seat of the second vehicle, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Brandy’s husband, who was behind the wheel of the truck, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. Two of the couple’s three children were in the back seat at the time of the crash. One child has since been released from medical care, while the other remains hospitalized after undergoing surgery.
According to her family, Brandy and her loved ones were en route to visit her mother when the tragedy occurred. Her mother, Renee Bishop, remembered Brandy as someone who “lit up everyone’s world” and loved her children “more than life itself.”
Brandy’s aunt, Tangela Rogers, also shared how deeply the loss is felt throughout the family, describing her niece as “so outgoing, just so lovable,” and someone who “will be missed so very much.”
Responding agencies included Kentucky State Police, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Dry Ridge Fire Department, Williamstown Fire Department, Grant County Emergency Management, Air EVAC, UC Air Care, and the Grant County Coroner. The identity of the 81-year-old driver has not yet been released.
The crash remains under active investigation.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Nash family and all those impacted by this heartbreaking loss.
