Escambia County, FL (January 1, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash on W Airport Blvd Monday morning left two people hospitalized, according to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The collision involved multiple vehicles and occurred around 11:30 a.m., disrupting traffic and prompting emergency response efforts.
A 65-year-old Pensacola woman driving a black Cadillac SUV was traveling westbound in the left turn lanes of W Airport Blvd with a 72-year-old male passenger. Ahead of her were two stopped vans, one white and the other tan, positioned side by side within the travel lanes. The Cadillac driver attempted to maneuver between the vans, resulting in damage to her SUV and both vans. The van drivers were not injured in the collision.
Shortly after this initial crash, the Cadillac driver attempted to enter the westbound travel lanes of W Airport Blvd. In doing so, she collided with a black Nissan sedan and stopped in traffic within the outside left turn lane. The sedan was occupied by two individuals from North Carolina: a 28-year-old male driver and a 26-year-old female passenger. The female passenger sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The Cadillac driver, who was reportedly experiencing a medical emergency at the time, also suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. FHP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this multi-vehicle crash,” officials stated.
