Fenton Twp, MN (January 16, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision resulted in injuries on Highway 91 near Mile Marker 33 in Fenton Township, Murray County. The crash occurred at approximately 11:13 p.m. and involved a northbound Ford F-150 and a southbound Mazda 6.
Chandler Fire and Rescue, Murray County Ambulance, and the Murray County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. According to officials, the Ford F-150, driven by 27-year-old Carter Michael Grupp of Slayton, collided head-on with the Mazda 6, driven by 42-year-old Julia Yamileth Castillo. Castillo and a passenger in her vehicle, 18-year-old Blake Scott Martinez-Costillo of Adrian, both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Murray County Hospital for treatment.
Both vehicles’ airbags deployed, and all involved were reportedly wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Alcohol was confirmed to be involved in the actions of the Ford driver. Grupp was not injured and did not require hospitalization.
Crews remained on-site for several hours to provide aid, clear the roadway, and begin an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. The incident remains under active review by local authorities.
