Construction-Related Accidents in Texas
Collisions involving construction vehicles can present severe risks due to the size and weight of the equipment. On high-speed corridors like Highway 80, the combination of commercial vehicles, passenger cars, and active construction zones can create sudden hazards. Even a brief lapse in attention or a miscalculation in speed and distance can result in serious accidents, particularly when heavy vehicles are involved.
In Texas, work zone and construction-related crashes remain a significant concern, with state data showing hundreds of serious injury incidents each year. Factors such as reduced lane widths, sudden slowdowns, and merging traffic can all contribute to the risk. Forney’s rapid growth and ongoing infrastructure improvements have increased construction activity along major routes, which requires heightened driver awareness.
Victims of construction-related crashes often face extensive recovery needs due to the force of impact in such collisions. Beyond immediate medical treatment, injuries can lead to long-term rehabilitation and financial strain from missed work. Insurance claims may also become more complex when commercial or municipal vehicles are involved, as liability investigations can take longer and involve multiple parties.
