Highway Accidents in Florida
Florida’s major highways, including I-95, are among the busiest and most accident-prone roadways in the state. High-speed travel, heavy traffic, and sudden lane changes can all contribute to collisions, especially in densely populated areas like Fort Lauderdale.
When an accident occurs on a highway, the impact can be severe, often leading to injuries, lane closures, and major delays. Roadblocks on high-speed roadways also increase the risk of secondary crashes, as drivers may struggle to react in time to stopped or slowed vehicles ahead.
Florida’s no-fault insurance system requires those injured in a crash to seek compensation through their personal injury protection (PIP) coverage first. However, in cases of severe injuries, additional legal action may be necessary to recover full compensation for medical expenses, lost income, and other damages.
To reduce highway accidents, drivers should maintain safe following distances, avoid distractions, and remain aware of sudden traffic slowdowns. If you or a loved one has been injured in a highway accident, it’s important to seek medical care and legal guidance as soon as possible.
