Frackville, PA (January 24, 2025) – A three-vehicle collision occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the 300 block of S Lehigh Ave, resulting in injuries and property damage. The crash was reported around 3:00 PM, prompting an emergency response from Frackville Police, EMS, and fire crews.
According to the Frackville Police Department, Margarita Zamudio, 26, of Shenandoah, was traveling north on S Lehigh Ave in a Dodge Journey when she was unable to stop in time for traffic halted at a red light near the intersection with Arch St. Zamudio’s vehicle struck the rear of a Hyundai SUV driven by Paul Morales, 48, of Shenandoah. The impact caused Morales’ vehicle to collide with a Kia SUV operated by Selvyn Nicholson, 44, of Scranton.
The Hyundai and Kia sustained minor damage and were drivable after the crash, while Zamudio’s Dodge Journey suffered disabling damage and was towed from the scene. A passenger in Morales’ vehicle sustained injuries and was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pottsville for treatment. No further details regarding the passenger’s condition have been released.
Following the investigation, Margarita Zamudio was cited for Following Too Closely.
