Franklin County, MO (September 13, 2025) – A vehicle crash on Route KK near Kopp Lane left two people with serious injuries Friday evening. The incident occurred around 7:22 p.m. when the 87-year-old male driver of a 2019 Kia Cadenza from New Haven, MO, lost control of his vehicle.
The Kia veered off the road, traveled down an embankment, and struck a tree, which caused the vehicle to catch fire. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported the driver to Mercy Hospital St. Louis. The female passenger, also 87 years old from New Haven, MO, was airlifted to the same hospital by helicopter due to her serious injuries.
Both vehicles involved in the crash were towed by Sturm’s Towing, and local authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the collision.
