Franklin County, MO (September 1, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash left one woman injured Saturday afternoon following a serious collision on US Highway 50 at MO-185, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:34 p.m. when a 2021 Toyota RAV4 traveling westbound on US-50 attempted a left turn onto MO-185. In doing so, it failed to yield to an eastbound 2019 Toyota Corolla. The RAV4 collided with the Corolla, causing the RAV4 to overturn and strike a third vehicle—a 2020 Honda Civic that was traveling eastbound at the time.
All three vehicles sustained major damage and were towed from the scene by Patriot Towing. The driver of the Corolla, a 42-year-old woman from Beaufort, MO, was transported by Gerald Ambulance District to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The other two drivers, a 46-year-old man from Wright City (RAV4) and a 46-year-old woman from New Haven (Civic), were not reported as injured but both vehicles sustained significant to extensive damage. Authorities from Troop C responded and assisted with the investigation, road control, and vehicle recovery.
As of now, no citations have been reported, but the investigation remains ongoing. Traffic delays were noted in the area as crews worked to clear the crash site and examine the sequence of events.
We wish the injured driver a full and swift recovery.
Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Missouri
Intersections like US-50 and MO-185 in Franklin County can be particularly hazardous, especially when left turns are attempted across multiple lanes of oncoming traffic. In this case, the failure to yield at a high-speed junction led to a violent collision, vehicle rollover, and additional secondary impact—all common features in serious intersection crashes.
Saturday’s incident serves as a reminder of how quickly a lapse in judgment at an intersection can result in a chain-reaction crash involving multiple vehicles. The woman in the Corolla, though fortunate to have only sustained minor injuries, will still face the stress of medical treatment, vehicle loss, and time away from routine activities.
These types of crashes often highlight the dangers of misjudging speed and distance when turning at intersections. They also show how one wrong move can place not just the driver at risk, but multiple others, especially on rural highways with heavy weekend traffic.
For those injured in multi-vehicle accidents, the path forward involves navigating medical care, vehicle replacement, insurance claims, and potentially legal matters. Understanding your options early—and getting access to local support—can make a meaningful difference in recovery.
