Failure-to-Yield Collisions in Missouri
Failure-to-yield crashes are a common cause of intersection-related collisions in Missouri and can lead to significant injuries, especially when involving high-speed cross traffic. Sunday’s crash in Franklin County underscores the importance of exercising caution and ensuring the roadway is clear before proceeding through an intersection.
Missouri safety officials advise drivers—particularly older motorists—to take extra time when judging gaps in traffic and to avoid rushing when entering or crossing busy highways. Yielding properly not only prevents accidents but also reduces the severity of injuries when collisions do occur.
