Franklin Twp, OH (August 11, 2025) – A fatal two-vehicle collision occurred Sunday morning in Franklin Township, Fulton County, claiming one life and leaving four others injured. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported the crash happened at approximately 8:40 a.m. when an eastbound car on County Rd L failed to yield at a stop sign and struck a southbound SUV on State Route 66.

The SUV left the roadway, hit a utility pole, and overturned. The driver, 30-year-old McKenzie White of Louisville, KY, died at the scene. The car’s driver, Dustin Wood of Bryan, and passenger Deadra Wood sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to a Toledo hospital. A 16-year-old passenger in Wood’s car was transported with non-life-threatening injuries. Margaret Arnsby, 30, of Cincinnati, a passenger in the SUV, also suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

The intersection remained closed for several hours while crews assisted victims, investigated the crash, and repaired damage caused by the downed utility pole. Power outages were reported in the surrounding area.

Our thoughts are with the family of McKenzie White and all those injured in this tragic incident.

Car Accidents in Ohio

Rural intersections like State Route 66 and County Rd L often present heightened collision risks due to limited visibility, higher travel speeds, and reduced traffic control measures. When drivers fail to yield the right of way, the results can be severe, particularly when the crash involves side impacts or high-speed travel.

Accidents of this nature can result in life-threatening injuries, extensive property damage, and roadway closures that disrupt surrounding communities. Safety officials recommend that motorists approach rural intersections with caution, come to complete stops at posted signs, and double-check for cross traffic before proceeding.

Local Accident Reports urges drivers to remain vigilant and to prioritize safety when navigating intersections in both rural and urban areas.
