Fresno County, CA (September 23, 2025) – A serious crash involving a pedestrian and two vehicles resulted in major injuries Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of E Floral Avenue and Pederson Avenue in the Fresno CHP jurisdiction. The incident, reported at approximately 2:53 p.m., led to a large emergency response and an extended road closure in the area.
Initial information from the California Highway Patrol indicates that a black sedan and a black van collided at or near the intersection. During the crash, one of the vehicles reportedly struck a pole, and a pedestrian became pinned. Dispatch records note that the pedestrian, described as a female, was bleeding and unable to exit the vehicle area, with bystanders assisting before EMS arrived. The incident was later updated to a “Traffic Collision – Major Injuries,” indicating the severity of the situation.
Emergency medical personnel transported at least one injured party to Kaweah Delta Hospital (KDH) for treatment. Authorities later confirmed the roadway was closed for approximately six hours as investigators examined the scene and coordinated towing operations for both vehicles involved.
At this time, CHP officers continue to investigate what caused the crash. Early reports mentioned that the vehicles involved were a black Honda and a gray Ford F-150 pickup truck. PG&E and Fresno County Roads were also notified due to infrastructure concerns from the pole impact.
Our sincere thoughts are with the injured pedestrian and all others affected by this serious collision.
