Galt, CA (August 6, 2025) – A serious three-vehicle crash involving a rollover and significant vehicle damage occurred Tuesday afternoon on northbound State Route 99 just south of Walnut Ave. Emergency medical crews responded to the scene and transported at least one injured individual to Sutter Medical Center for further evaluation.
The incident occurred around 3:42 p.m. and involved a gray Toyota Camry, a white Nissan SUV, and a third vehicle that reportedly overturned before landing back on its wheels. According to California Highway Patrol logs, one of the vehicles struck a tree during the crash, and another sustained heavy front-end damage. The white Nissan SUV, which was described as a mini SUV, was found on the right-hand shoulder, while a sedan involved came to rest in the center divide.
First responders assessed multiple parties at the scene. One driver was noted to appear confused following the impact, and paramedics transported at least one individual to the hospital for injuries that have not yet been fully disclosed.
AJ’s Towing was called to remove two damaged vehicles, both of which were deemed inoperable. Northbound traffic experienced delays as officers directed vehicles around the crash scene and coordinated cleanup.
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash and will assess whether factors such as driver behavior, vehicle speed, or lane changes contributed to the rollover.
Our thoughts are with the injured parties, and we wish them a full and fast recovery.
Rollover Collisions and Injury Risks in California
Tuesday’s crash on northbound SR-99 near Walnut Ave in Galt reflects the significant danger posed by multi-vehicle collisions involving a rollover. In this case, at least one vehicle overturned, another hit a tree, and multiple cars sustained major damage. At least one person required hospital transport, highlighting how quickly serious injuries can arise even when vehicles land upright.
SR-99 is one of California’s most heavily traveled highways through the Central Valley, with frequent merge zones, shoulder transitions, and variable traffic speeds. When collisions occur near exits like Walnut Ave, the combination of high speed and sudden stopping can easily lead to secondary impacts or loss of control—especially when multiple vehicles are involved.
Rollover crashes, in particular, carry a high risk for traumatic injuries, including head trauma, spinal cord damage, and internal bleeding. While modern vehicles offer improved rollover protection, occupants may still be ejected or experience significant force during the flip. In this crash, one of the drivers appeared disoriented, which may signal a concussion or other head injury requiring close monitoring.
Accidents involving trees or fixed objects—like in this incident—also amplify injury potential. The force of a vehicle striking a stationary object while out of control can be just as severe as a direct collision with another car. Add to this the presence of a third vehicle in the center divide, and the scene becomes a complex emergency requiring rapid, coordinated response.
Injured victims of complex collisions are encouraged to seek thorough medical evaluation and to preserve any available documentation of the scene for potential legal or insurance claims. With the right support, recovery can include not only physical healing but also help with navigating claims and long-term care needs.
