Gasconade County, MO (September 1, 2025) – A single-vehicle rollover crash late on Saturday night on Gorrel Rd in rural Gasconade County left one man seriously injured and two others with minor injuries, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. near the 4700 block of Gorrel Rd, when a 2001 Ford Expedition veered off the right side of the roadway. The driver, a 27-year-old woman from Orlando, FL, reportedly overcorrected, causing the SUV to overturn. The vehicle sustained total damage and was later towed from the scene by Chris and Sons Towing.
Among the three occupants was a 21-year-old man from St. James, MO, who suffered serious injuries and was transported by Osage County EMS to Cuba Memorial Hospital for emergency treatment. A second passenger, a 20-year-old man also from St. James, sustained minor injuries but declined EMS transport. The driver likewise reported only minor injuries and declined further medical attention at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and weather conditions at the time have not yet been cited as a contributing factor. Authorities from Troop F and assisting units responded to secure the scene and begin their investigation.
The crash remains under review, and no citations have been issued at this time.

Rollover Accidents in Missouri
Rollover crashes, such as the one reported on Gorrel Rd, can be especially dangerous due to the violent forces involved and the heightened risk of ejection or injury to unrestrained passengers. In this case, an overcorrection maneuver caused the vehicle to overturn, leading to serious injuries for one of the occupants.
Rural roads in Missouri, particularly those with narrow shoulders and sharp curves, are frequent sites for single-vehicle accidents. These roadways often lack lighting or guardrails and can be deceptively hazardous at night or when visibility is low. Overcorrection after drifting off the road is a common cause of rollovers, particularly in large SUVs like the Ford Expedition.
The 21-year-old man’s serious injuries serve as a stark reminder of how quickly a routine drive can turn into a life-altering event. Passengers who are not properly restrained face even greater risk, and in many such incidents, failing to wear a seatbelt directly contributes to the severity of the injuries sustained.
Even those with “minor” injuries may later discover hidden complications, such as internal trauma or delayed symptoms, making prompt medical evaluation essential for everyone involved. Emotional trauma, anxiety, and confusion are also common in the wake of rollover crashes, especially among younger passengers.
Navigating insurance claims, injury treatment, and potential legal concerns can feel overwhelming without proper support. For those affected by serious crashes in Missouri, knowing where to turn for information and help is critical to recovery.
If you or a loved one has been injured in a rollover or single-vehicle crash, now is the time to explore your options for care and recovery.
