Highway Collisions in Arizona
High-speed corridors like I-10 see a significant number of injury accidents each year. According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, freeway crashes are often linked to speeding, sudden lane changes, following too closely, and distracted driving. When collisions occur at highway speeds, the risk of severe injuries increases substantially.
In the Goodyear area, traffic congestion near major interchanges such as N Estrella Pkwy can create conditions where a single incident quickly causes delays and secondary crashes. Safety experts recommend maintaining a safe following distance, using turn signals well in advance, and adjusting speed to match traffic flow.
Arizona transportation officials continue to focus on improving freeway safety through enhanced signage, ramp metering, and targeted enforcement to reduce crash rates.
