Granby, MO (January 31, 2026) – A fatal single-vehicle accident along US-60 just west of Granby claimed the life of a 57-year-old woman and left a man injured on January 30, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The collision took place at approximately 10:43 a.m. when a 2018 Ford EcoSport, traveling eastbound, veered off the right side of the highway and struck a tree. The impact caused total damage to the vehicle and triggered a large emergency response to the area.
A 48-year-old male driver from Granby, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Freeman Hospital in Neosho. His passenger, a 57-year-old woman also from Granby, was not wearing a safety device and suffered fatal injuries in the crash. She was transported by ambulance to Freeman Hospital in Neosho, where she was pronounced dead by medical staff at 11:52 a.m.
Authorities have confirmed that next of kin has been notified. The crash marks the fifth fatality investigated by Troop D so far in 2026.
