Grand Rapids, MI (January 18, 2026) – A male pedestrian was struck and killed by a snowplow in the early morning hours of January 17 near the intersection of 28th Street and Breton Road in Grand Rapids. Authorities confirmed that the incident occurred around 4:45 a.m. and involved a commercially owned plow truck.
Police officers and emergency responders arrived quickly but found the pedestrian deceased at the scene. The Grand Rapids Police Department Traffic Unit has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The identity of the man has not been publicly released pending notification of next of kin. Officials have confirmed that the snowplow driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
