Greene, NY (February 8, 2025) – New York State Police responded to a multi-vehicle crash on State Route 12 in the Town of Greene that resulted in three individuals being sent to the hospital. The crash, which occurred earlier in the day, involved a tractor-trailer and multiple passenger vehicles. According to officials, the incident began when the tractor-trailer, traveling southbound, sideswiped a car that was waiting to turn left into Chenango Sales. The tractor-trailer then veered into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a truck.
The impact caused the tractor-trailer to continue into the Chenango Sales lot, striking multiple unoccupied vehicles. Emergency responders worked quickly to assist those injured, and the truck passenger was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the truck and the driver of the car were both transported by ambulance to UHS Wilson Medical Center, both with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, although they were checked out by EMS on the scene.
Authorities from the New York State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit responded to the scene, and the Department of Environmental Conservation Spill Response team was called in to manage spilled oil and fuel.
