Greensboro, NC (February 3, 2025) – A pedestrian lost their life after being struck by multiple vehicles while attempting to cross Interstate 40 East on Saturday evening, according to Greensboro police.
The fatal accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. near the Bridford Parkway overpass. Authorities reported that Misty Dawn Gibbons, 47, of Greensboro, was attempting to cross the highway when she was struck by a Honda Civic Del Sol traveling eastbound on I-40. Moments later, she was hit by a BMW 435i that was also traveling in the same direction.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Gibbons succumbed to her injuries. The circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation as law enforcement officials work to determine the contributing factors.
