Harris County, TX (August 8, 2025) – A tragic collision in northeast Harris County claimed the life of a pregnant woman and left another person injured on Thursday evening. The crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Tidwell Rd just west of C.E. King Pkwy. Investigators reported that a red 2010 Ford Mustang, driven by 33-year-old Gloria Guevera, was traveling eastbound when it was struck from behind by a white truck.
The impact forced the Mustang into the median and into oncoming traffic, where it was hit head-on by a 2019 Ford F-250 towing a utility trailer. Guevera, who was two to three months pregnant, died at the scene. Her passenger was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition.
The driver of the white truck fled the scene and has not yet been identified. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division continues to investigate and urges anyone with information about the crash or the unidentified white truck to come forward.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones of the victim.
Hit-and-Run Collisions in Texas
Hit-and-run crashes remain a devastating problem on Texas roadways, often compounding the harm caused by the initial collision. In cases like this, where a driver flees the scene, victims and their families are left facing not only physical and emotional trauma but also the uncertainty of whether the responsible party will be held accountable. Data from the Texas Department of Transportation shows that hit-and-run accidents have been steadily increasing over the past decade, with thousands reported annually across the state. The consequences are often severe, especially when high-speed impacts or multiple vehicles are involved. Law enforcement agencies encourage drivers to remain at the scene, render aid, and cooperate with investigators, as leaving can result in significant criminal charges. For victims and families, securing experienced legal and investigative support can be critical in pursuing justice and compensation. Public awareness and strict enforcement of hit-and-run laws are essential to reducing these tragic events in Texas communities.
