Hillsboro, OR (September 10, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision involving a silver Nissan Altima and a white SUV occurred Tuesday morning at the intersection of NE Town Center Drive and NW 185th Avenue in Hillsboro, leaving two individuals injured.
The crash, which was reported around 7:40 a.m., was described by emergency dispatch as a T-bone-style collision that occurred near the entrance to a shopping center and within the intersection itself. Engine 3, SQ 64, and AMR 104 responded to the scene, where both vehicles were found disabled—one in the middle of 185th Avenue.
All occupants had exited the vehicles before responders arrived. Medics on site evaluated two patients who were classified as “green,” meaning they sustained minor injuries. One of the victims was transported for further assessment, while the other continued receiving treatment on scene.
Traffic near the busy intersection was affected for a time while emergency crews managed the crash scene and coordinated cleanup. Police were en route during the response, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the collision.
We send our well wishes to those injured and hope for their complete recovery.
Intersection Collisions in Washington County
Crashes at intersections like NE Town Center Dr and NW 185th Ave are a common safety concern across suburban Oregon. In rapidly growing communities such as Hillsboro, traffic congestion has increased significantly in recent years—especially near retail and residential developments where high vehicle volume and multiple turning points collide.
Tuesday’s crash illustrates the risk of T-bone collisions, which frequently occur when a driver fails to yield while making a turn or runs a signal. These types of impacts often cause significant injury due to the limited structural protection on the side of a vehicle—especially when struck by a larger SUV or commercial vehicle.
Even when injuries are classified as minor, the long-term effects can be unpredictable. Headaches, whiplash, or soft-tissue damage may not surface until hours or days after the crash, and victims may find themselves dealing with ongoing medical needs, insurance disputes, or loss of income.
For those involved in intersection crashes, early action is key. Medical documentation, timely reporting, and access to recovery resources can help protect your health and legal rights.
