Holland, MI (January 28, 2025) – Two residents and two Holland police officers were treated for minor smoke inhalation following a house fire early Monday morning. The incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. on Calvin Ave, south of E. 8th St.
According to the Holland Department of Public Safety, the fire broke out in the laundry room of the residence. The occupants managed to escape the home before the fire intensified. Upon arrival, responding police officers entered the building to ensure all residents were safe and to search for the homeowners’ pets.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly, limiting the damage to the laundry room. Emergency medical personnel treated two adults and two officers for minor smoke inhalation at the scene. No further medical intervention was required.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire. Thankfully, no severe injuries were reported, and all involved are expected to recover.
