School Bus Safety in Michigan
School bus accidents, though less common than other types of crashes, highlight the importance of road safety and vigilance, especially when buses are stopped to pick up or drop off students. Rear-end collisions involving school buses often result from distracted driving, following too closely, or failing to anticipate stops.
Michigan law requires drivers to maintain a safe distance from school buses and come to a complete stop when bus lights are flashing. Violating these laws can lead to dangerous situations and significant penalties.
In cases like this, where a collision occurs, it’s crucial for those involved to seek medical evaluations, even if injuries appear minor, and document the accident thoroughly. Legal and community resources are available to help navigate the recovery process and ensure that those affected receive the support they need.
