Idaho Falls, ID (August 7, 2025) – A 27-year-old man lost his life following a high-speed crash that police say stemmed from an illegal street race late Tuesday night. The Bonneville County Coroner has identified the victim as Brady Merriweather of Idaho FIdaho Falls, ID – Brady Merriweather Killed in Street Racing Crash on W 17th Stalls. The fatal crash occurred near the 400 block of W 17th St, in the parking lot of a Phillips 66 gas station.
According to the Idaho Falls Police Department, officers and emergency personnel responded to the scene at approximately 10:46 p.m. after receiving reports of a serious single-vehicle crash. Witnesses stated that Merriweather had been racing a white or light-colored pickup truck while speeding eastbound from Pancheri Dr toward 17th St.
During the race, Merriweather lost control of his 2018 Infiniti Q50. His vehicle veered off the road and collided with a concrete wall separating the gas station and a neighboring business, the Spiders Web. He was the only occupant in the vehicle.
Emergency crews extricated Merriweather from the wreckage and immediately began life-saving measures before transporting him to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Despite the efforts of first responders and hospital staff, he succumbed to his injuries early Wednesday morning.
Investigators continue to search for the other driver involved in the alleged race. Police are asking anyone with information about the white or light-colored truck or its driver to contact the Idaho Falls Police Department.
