The incident occurred shortly after 11:24 a.m. and prompted a trauma alert response from local emergency crews.
Units from Engine 01, Ambulance 13, and Medic 29 arrived on scene quickly, where the victim was found awake and alert. According to dispatch audio, the man was riding unhelmeted along a bike trail just north of W 10th St when he was hit by a red Toyota RAV4 traveling approximately 30 to 35 miles per hour. The vehicle remained at the scene following the collision.
Paramedics reported the cyclist suffered a visible deformity to his left upper arm, consistent with a likely fracture. The injury was splinted and stabilized on-site before the man was transported for further treatment. Medical staff administered pain management during transport, and vital signs indicated the patient remained in stable condition.
