Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Incidents in Indiana
Hit-and-run accidents involving pedestrians are among the most serious and emotionally distressing traffic incidents. When a driver leaves the scene of a crash, especially after making intentional contact, it not only constitutes a criminal act but also denies the victim immediate support and justice.
In Indiana, pedestrian injuries and fatalities have increased over the past several years, particularly in urban settings like Indianapolis, where major roads intersect with foot traffic. Roads such as Madison Ave, with its mix of commercial and residential access points, often see high vehicle and pedestrian interaction—making incidents like this particularly concerning.
Victims of hit-and-run incidents may face long recovery periods and unexpected expenses. Legal consequences for the fleeing driver can include criminal charges, license suspension, and civil liability for medical costs, pain and suffering, and more. Victims or their families are encouraged to document everything they can about the vehicle and driver and to seek immediate legal guidance to protect their rights.
