Indianapolis, IN (February 1, 2026) – A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run crash near Carrollton Avenue in downtown Indianapolis, prompting an active investigation by local law enforcement.
According to dispatch audio, the incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. in front of The Garage Food Hall at Bottleworks. Witnesses reported that a woman exited a vehicle moments before the car sped off and struck another woman nearby. The suspect vehicle, described as a black Chevy Impala, fled the scene heading eastbound on Tenth Street. The license plate was partially captured by witnesses, though a full description has not been released.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and responded to the injured pedestrian at the location of 1000 North 800 East. The condition of the victim has not yet been made public, and it is unclear whether the injuries are life-threatening.
Units from Marion County law enforcement are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the area and taking witness statements as they work to identify the driver responsible.
