Indianapolis, IN (January 31, 2026) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck and briefly pinned by a truck near North Senate Ave, close to IU Health Methodist Hospital. The incident occurred at approximately 6:02 p.m., according to dispatch communications from Marion County emergency medical services.
Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene and worked to extricate the victim, who was reportedly pinned by the vehicle for about 10 seconds before being freed by fire personnel. The patient, described as a male in his fifties, sustained visible deformities to both femurs and was transported by ambulance to the nearby trauma center.
Medics noted the individual was conscious upon arrival with a Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score of 14 and admitted to alcohol consumption prior to the incident. His blood pressure and oxygen saturation were being closely monitored during transport.
The crash occurred just blocks from IU Health Methodist Hospital, allowing for swift transition from field care to trauma unit intake. Emergency teams treated the incident as a high-priority trauma case.
