Jackson County, MO (January 24, 2025) – A rear-end collision on I-470 eastbound at the 6.4-mile marker caused injuries and vehicle damage on Thursday afternoon. The accident occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m., prompting a response from the Lee’s Summit Fire and EMS as well as local police.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash involved a 2017 Nissan Rogue and a Toyota Tundra, both traveling eastbound. The accident occurred when the Toyota Tundra, driven by a 54-year-old woman from Kansas City, MO, struck the rear of the Nissan Rogue, which was being driven by a 23-year-old woman from Kansas City, KS.
The Toyota Tundra sustained total damage and was secured at the scene, while the Nissan Rogue sustained moderate damage and was towed by Elite Tow. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The driver of the Toyota Tundra sustained injuries but reportedly refused medical treatment at the scene. The driver of the Nissan Rogue was uninjured.
