Jackson County, OR (September 18, 2025) – Two people sustained injuries Monday morning following a serious collision involving a logging truck in Jackson County. The incident occurred around 10:15 AM on Avenue G, near the intersection with Highway 62, and involved multiple vehicles crushed by the big rig’s load of logs.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, prior to the crash, several motorists reported a logging truck trailer being operated erratically along Highway 62. Moments later, the trailer overturned while navigating Avenue G, spilling its load of logs across the roadway and onto several nearby vehicles.
The logs landed directly on a Hyundai Elantra, a Nissan cargo van, and a Ford F-150. The driver of the Ford sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital by emergency medical services. The operator of the Hyundai was also hospitalized with injuries that have not yet been fully detailed. Meanwhile, the driver of the Nissan van did not require hospital care.
First responders from Jackson County Fire and Rescue worked diligently to secure the area, assist injured victims, and assess structural damage to the vehicles involved. Cleanup crews remained on scene for several hours to remove the heavy logs and clear traffic lanes.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of the logging truck, as well as the company operating the vehicle, are cooperating with the ongoing investigation. At this time, no citations or charges have been announced as investigators work to determine what caused the trailer to overturn.
We extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery to those injured in this incident and recognize the continued efforts of local officials working to establish accountability and prevent similar events.
Logging Truck Accidents in Oregon
Truck-related crashes—especially those involving logging trailers—can result in catastrophic damage due to the sheer weight and instability of unsecured or shifting cargo. Monday’s incident on Avenue G in Jackson County underscores the severe risks posed by erratic driving behaviors combined with heavy industrial loads.
Logging operations are a critical part of Oregon’s economy, particularly in rural areas like Jackson County. However, the transportation of these loads on public roads introduces significant hazards, particularly when safety protocols are not meticulously followed. In this crash, the rollover led to logs crushing three separate vehicles—demonstrating how quickly such an incident can escalate into a life-threatening situation for multiple road users.
The report of erratic driving prior to the crash raises questions about vehicle maintenance, driver condition, and possible speed or load violations. While investigations are ongoing, those impacted by the crash may face long-term consequences including physical rehabilitation, property loss, emotional trauma, and mounting expenses.
Oregon state law allows victims of truck-related collisions to pursue compensation for medical costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering—but these claims can be complex. When a commercial vehicle and multiple parties are involved, navigating liability becomes especially challenging.
This incident serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of accountability and safe operation in the trucking industry. For those affected, connecting with the right legal and recovery resources is essential to moving forward.
