Jackson, MS (January 16, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle crash with injuries early on Friday morning on I-55 southbound near McDowell Rd, according to dispatch audio reports.
The accident was reported around 6:17 a.m. on January 16. One of the vehicles reportedly overturned during the collision, prompting a rapid response from EMS, fire units, and law enforcement.
At least one individual sustained injuries and was transported by EMS to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMC) for further treatment. The severity of the injuries has not yet been disclosed.
Traffic in the area was slowed as crews worked to assist the injured and clear the scene. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
