Jackson Twp, OH (August 13, 2025) – The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred Tuesday morning, August 12, 2025, at the intersection of Reservoir Road and McClure Road in Jackson Township, Allen County. The crash took place at approximately 8:47 a.m. when a 2009 Toyota MR2 failed to yield at a posted stop sign and collided with a 2009 Ford F-350 box truck.
The Toyota, driven by 22-year-old Dru Baker of Benton Ridge, Ohio, was traveling north on McClure Road when it struck the Ford, which was being driven by 27-year-old James Hilty of Ada, Ohio. Following the impact, the Ford veered off the left side of the roadway and crashed into a nearby barn.
Baker was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, while Hilty was taken to the same hospital with reported serious injuries. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by several local agencies, including the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, multiple EMS teams, and fire departments from Bath Township, Lafayette-Jackson, and Lima.
The crash remains under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the incident. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reminding motorists to avoid distractions while driving and always wear a properly adjusted safety belt.
