Jefferson County, KY (February 1, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 264 West near mile marker 17, resulting in injuries to two individuals, including a child.
The collision occurred around 3:06 p.m. and involved a red Nissan Rogue and a Chevy Trax, both of which came to rest on the right-hand shoulder of the highway. Fire crews from Engine 8 and Engine 10 arrived on scene to assist.
Medics evaluated two patients: a 35-year-old adult experiencing neck pain and an 11-year-old who was also assessed on scene after requesting a medical check. The extent of their injuries has not been officially confirmed, but both were expected to receive further evaluation.
The crash caused temporary traffic delays along the westbound lanes of I-264 as emergency teams worked to assist the injured and safely clear the vehicles from the shoulder. No additional injuries were reported, and the Kentucky State Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the incident.
