Jefferson County, MO (August 6, 2025) – A violent head-on collision on Missouri Route 30 left three individuals injured Tuesday night after a Ferrari crossed the center median and struck another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The crash occurred around 8:40 p.m. just east of Dillon Rd and was investigated by Trooper D. A. Norton of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop C.
According to the crash report, a 2017 Ferrari 488 Spider was traveling eastbound when it veered off the left side of the roadway, crossed the median, and entered the westbound lanes. It collided head-on with a 2020 Ford Edge that was traveling westbound. Both vehicles were totaled in the impact and had to be towed by High Ridge Auto Towing.
The driver of the Ford Edge, a 23-year-old woman from House Springs, MO, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital South by Big River Ambulance. The Ferrari contained two 27-year-old male occupants from St. Louis, both of whom sustained serious injuries. They were also taken to Mercy Hospital South by ambulance.
All parties involved were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Multiple officers assisted at the scene, including MSGT. M. G. Autenrieth, TPR. A. P. Billiot, TPR. M. Momot, CPL. T. H. Elliston, and MSGT. B. M. Beard.
High-Speed Head-On Collisions in Missouri
Tuesday’s devastating collision on Missouri 30 underscores the immense dangers posed by median-crossing incidents on divided highways. When a vehicle leaves its lane and enters opposing traffic, the potential for catastrophic injury rises exponentially—particularly when high-performance vehicles like a Ferrari are involved.
Head-on collisions often result in the most severe outcomes, due to the combined speed and impact angle. In this case, the Ford Edge driver had little to no time to react when the Ferrari crossed into her lane. Despite seatbelt use, all three individuals required emergency transport.
Contributing factors in median-crossing crashes can include excessive speed, driver inattention, mechanical failure, or impaired driving—all of which are typically considered in post-crash investigations. The incident also led to significant traffic disruption in both directions while responders worked to assist the injured and clear the wreckage.
For victims, the road to recovery can be long and filled with challenges—from physical healing to navigating legal and insurance complexities. The emotional toll following such a traumatic event can be equally profound.
