Ensuring Safe Driving at Intersections
The crash at Montauk Dr and US 67 underscores the vital importance of following traffic rules at intersections. Failing to yield, especially when turning onto a busy road, can result in devastating consequences for both drivers and passengers. Rural intersections, such as the one at Montauk Dr, often have limited visibility, making it even more crucial to proceed with caution.
Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to stress the importance of being alert at all intersections, regardless of traffic volume, to reduce the risk of accidents. Drivers are advised to slow down, use their signals, and always ensure it is safe to move before entering busy roadways.
