Jefferson County, TX (January 1, 2025) – A serious crash involving an 18-wheeler and a car occurred on I-10 West near the Smith Rd exit at approximately 8:36 p.m., according to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Captain Crystal Holmes. The collision involved five individuals, including a juvenile who sustained injuries.
A Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived at the scene within two minutes of the crash, providing immediate assistance. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is leading the investigation and will release additional details as they become available. As a result of the collision, all westbound lanes of I-10 are currently shut down, causing significant traffic disruptions.
