Kent County, MI (September 5, 2025) – Two people were injured in a crash Friday morning after a driver ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle in northern Kent County.
The incident occurred around 7:00 AM at the intersection of Myers Lake Avenue NE and 18 Mile Road. According to Sgt. Scott Dietrich of the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, a southbound sedan failed to stop at the sign and struck a westbound sedan, causing it to veer off the road and into a ditch.
The driver of the southbound vehicle was ejected during the crash, while both drivers were transported to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, both individuals are expected to be released later today, as their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, and the Kent County Sheriff’s Office is urging drivers to always obey traffic signals to prevent such incidents.
