Kingston Twp, MN (September 8, 2025) – Emergency responders were called to a motorcycle crash with injuries Saturday morning in Kingston Township, Meeker County. The incident occurred around 9:16 a.m. on Highway 24 near milepost 13, according to a Minnesota State Patrol crash report.
Authorities confirmed that two motorcycles were traveling southbound when they collided. The crash involved a 1991 Harley Davidson driven by 79-year-old Lawrence Claire Sorenson of Bloomington and a 2007 Harley Davidson operated by 67-year-old Edwin Danny Jostock of Rochester.
Sorenson was not injured in the crash, while Jostock sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital for treatment. Neither rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, though alcohol was not believed to be a factor.

Motorcycle Accidents in Minnesota
Saturday’s crash on Highway 24 underscores the dangers motorcycle riders face, even on clear and dry roads. Motorcycles provide little protection in collisions, making riders particularly vulnerable to injury when accidents occur. In this case, the lack of helmet use placed both men at greater risk, though fortunately, the injuries were not life-threatening.
Minnesota crash data shows that motorcycle collisions are more likely to result in serious or fatal injuries compared to passenger vehicle crashes. Older riders, such as those involved in this incident, may face additional recovery challenges due to age-related vulnerabilities. Common causes of motorcycle crashes include following too closely, unsafe passing, and loss of control.
Helmet use remains one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of severe head trauma or death in motorcycle accidents. While not required for adult riders in Minnesota, wearing one significantly improves safety outcomes.
Beyond physical injuries, motorcycle accidents often bring emotional and financial strain, including hospital bills, rehabilitation, and missed work. For victims and their families, connecting with local support and recovery resources can be essential in moving forward.
