La Jolla, CA (January 31, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a devastating multi-vehicle collision that claimed the life of one individual and left several others injured in La Jolla.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of La Jolla Parkway and Hidden Valley Road. According to the San Diego Police Department, a Tesla and at least five other vehicles were involved in the violent wreck. The exact circumstances that led to the collision have not yet been determined.
Emergency responders from San Diego Fire-Rescue worked urgently to assist multiple individuals caught in the pile-up. One victim was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Several others sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The conditions of the injured victims have not been made public, and their identities remain undisclosed pending notification of family members.
Officers remained on scene through the night, collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses as part of their ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash. Traffic in the area was significantly impacted as authorities secured the site and conducted their preliminary assessment.
