Lake Isabella, CA (September 12, 2025) – A 65-year-old man tragically died Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle on Young Avenue, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.
The fatal incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on eastbound Young Ave, just west of Lake Isabella Blvd. Officials say Ronald Stewart Nevius Jr., a Lake Isabella resident, was walking along or near the roadway when he was hit by a vehicle under circumstances that remain under investigation.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported Nevius Jr. to Kern Valley District Hospital. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at 10:48 p.m.
Authorities have not yet released information regarding the driver involved or whether any contributing factors such as speed, visibility, or impairment were suspected. The investigation remains ongoing.
