Lake View Twp, MN (May 12, 2025) – An injury accident involving two vehicles occurred Friday morning at the intersection of Highway 59 and Becker County Rd 17 in Lake View Township, leaving two people hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to information from the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash took place at approximately 10:43 a.m. when a northbound 2006 Chevrolet Impala on Highway 59 collided with an eastbound 2014 Toyota Prius entering from Becker County Rd 17. Road conditions at the time of the incident were reported as dry.
Medics and fire crews worked to assist those suffering from injuries after the collision. The driver of the Chevrolet Impala, identified as 28-year-old Rhianna Marie Hayes of New York Mills, and her passenger, 32-year-old Ethan Jon Smith of Pelican Rapids, were both transported to Essentia Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Prius, 43-year-old Nathan Rich Dietrich of Gaylord, was not injured.
Both vehicles sustained airbag deployments as a result of the impact. The Becker County Sheriff’s Office and Essentia Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing. No indication of alcohol involvement was reported.
