Lakeside Twp, MN (January 17, 2026) – A multi-vehicle crash involving three semi-trucks and an SUV resulted in injuries Friday afternoon along Minnesota Highway 60 in Cottonwood County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 12:44 p.m. near Mile Marker 47 in Lakeside Township. A 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by 36-year-old Peterson Alexandre of Mankato, was traveling eastbound on MN Hwy 60 alongside three semi tractor-trailers when all four vehicles were involved in a collision.
Emergency responders from Windom Fire Department, Windom Police Department, Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, and local ambulance services arrived on scene to assist. Peterson Alexandre sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Windom Hospital for evaluation. The three semi drivers—Riley Joe Messner of Big Lake, Jason Andrews of Brunswick, and Oliver Alexis Acosta of Eau Claire—were not injured.
All drivers were wearing seat belts, and no airbags deployed. Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The Minnesota Department of Transportation was also on site to manage traffic and assist in clearing the roadway.
