Lansing, MI (July 10, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle collision on the east side of Lansing sent three people to the hospital Wednesday evening and prompted the temporary closure of a major road. According to the Lansing Police Department, the crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of East Saginaw Street and North Fairview Avenue.
One of the vehicles overturned during the collision, and both were left severely damaged and disabled. Emergency medical personnel treated the injured victims at the scene before transporting them to a local hospital. Fortunately, all three individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
East Saginaw Street was shut down at Clemens Street for approximately an hour as crews conducted cleanup and towed the wrecked vehicles.
Investigators suspect speed and alcohol may have played a role in the crash, but the incident remains under active investigation.
We extend our best wishes to those injured and hope for a smooth and full recovery.
Rollover Collisions and Contributing Factors in Lansing
Rollover accidents—like the one reported at E Saginaw St and N Fairview Ave—are among the most dangerous types of crashes, often leading to multi-person injuries and significant vehicle damage. These types of crashes typically occur at higher speeds or when a vehicle is struck from the side with enough force to tip or spin it over.
In urban areas like Lansing, where Saginaw Street serves as a primary east-west route, increased traffic volume during evening hours raises the likelihood of speed-related incidents. When alcohol is also a suspected factor, the risk of losing vehicle control, delayed reactions, and serious injury escalates significantly.
Victims of rollover crashes often suffer from head, neck, and back injuries, along with contusions, broken bones, or internal trauma—many of which may not be immediately apparent at the scene. Prompt medical evaluation and follow-up care are critical, even for injuries that are initially described as non-life-threatening.
Recovering from such crashes often involves more than physical healing. Victims must also navigate vehicle loss, insurance disputes, and sometimes legal proceedings—especially when reckless behavior like impaired driving is involved.
