Lawrence County, MO (August 6, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash south of Aurora left one woman with minor injuries Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Farm Road 2240, approximately four miles south of Aurora, and was investigated by CPL A.R. Enderle of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D.
According to the crash report, a 2024 RAM 3500 driven by a 45-year-old man from Verona, MO, was backing up a trailer when it entered the path of an eastbound 2001 GMC 1500. The GMC, driven by a 46-year-old woman from Aurora, MO, struck the trailer during the maneuver.
The female driver of the GMC sustained minor injuries in the crash. She was wearing a seatbelt and was transported by EMS to Mercy Hospital in Aurora for treatment. The male driver of the RAM was uninjured and remained at the scene. His vehicle sustained only minor damage and was able to be driven away.
The GMC, however, suffered moderate damage and had to be towed from the scene by Hillbilly Towing. Both drivers were insured through State Farm, and road conditions at the time of the crash were not noted as a factor.
Trailer-Related Collisions in Rural Missouri
Tuesday’s crash on Farm Road 2240 illustrates the unique hazards that arise when trailers are being maneuvered on rural roadways. While trailer operations are common in agricultural areas like Lawrence County, they often require precision and timing—particularly when they involve public road access.
In this case, the collision occurred during a backing maneuver, one of the more challenging trailer movements to perform safely on a narrow or low-visibility roadway. Accidents of this nature frequently occur when approaching drivers have limited reaction time or when trailer operations obstruct the lane without adequate warning.
For the injured Aurora resident, even minor injuries can involve medical treatment, transportation limitations, and recovery time away from work or daily responsibilities. In smaller communities, access to resources and support after a crash can be crucial to managing both physical and financial recovery.
