Long Beach, CA (September 13, 2024) – Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run traffic collision that resulted in injuries late Thursday night at the intersection of E San Antonio Dr and Cherry Ave in Long Beach.
The crash was reported at approximately 9:39 p.m. According to emergency dispatch audio, police and fire crews responded after receiving calls that an individual had been injured in a collision involving a driver who fled the scene. The exact number of people involved and the severity of the injuries sustained have not yet been confirmed.
Personnel from Long Beach Fire and Police Departments arrived at the scene to assist the injured and begin an investigation. The driver who caused the collision left the area without stopping to provide information or aid, which classifies the crash as a felony hit-and-run under California law.
