Long Beach, CA (September 25, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision resulted in injuries and major front-end damage early Wednesday morning at the intersection of East Anaheim Street and Redondo Avenue in Long Beach. The crash, reported around 6:22 AM, involved a white BMW and a Mazda 6. One of the drivers reportedly fled the scene on foot.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the area after callers alerted authorities to the crash. According to dispatch communications, medics were requested as one of the vehicles’ occupants remained at the scene with reported injuries. The condition of the injured party has not yet been released, but police radio classified the event as a “902” — indicating a medical emergency requiring EMS support.
Both the BMW and Mazda sustained extensive front-end damage, and a tow truck was later requested to remove the vehicles from the roadway. Responding units from Long Beach Fire and Police worked jointly to assess the scene, render aid, and begin an investigation into the apparent hit-and-run.
The individual who fled has not yet been publicly identified. Officers continue to follow leads in hopes of locating the missing driver and determining whether impairment, distraction, or speed played a role in the crash.
