Long Beach, CA (September 10, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Magnolia Ave and 3rd St in downtown Long Beach left several people injured Tuesday afternoon. The collision, which involved numerous patients and emergency units, raised additional concerns after reports indicated one of the drivers may have been intoxicated with a baby in the vehicle.
Fire and rescue crews were dispatched around 4:20 p.m. to the busy intersection, where they found a chaotic scene involving multiple vehicles and injured individuals. Units from Long Beach Fire Department, including Engine 1, Truck 1, and Rescue 1, responded to provide care. Several people required immediate medical attention, and emergency responders worked urgently to triage and stabilize those hurt.
According to audio from dispatch, law enforcement was also called to the scene as part of the response, particularly after reports of a possibly impaired driver traveling with a child. Although no additional fire units were deemed necessary, medical and police crews remained actively engaged at the site.
At least one ambulance responded with a Code 3 emergency status, indicating lights and sirens were activated due to the severity of the situation. Officials have not yet confirmed the number of vehicles or total patients involved. The intersection was temporarily closed while crews assisted victims and cleared wreckage.
Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this crash, especially the injured and those caring for the child involved. We hope for full recoveries across all parties.
