Long Beach, CA (September 23, 2025) – A woman was struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning at the intersection of E Broadway and Cherry Ave, resulting in life-threatening injuries. Initial reports indicated the victim was found unconscious and not breathing when units arrived on the scene.
Police and fire personnel quickly moved in to secure the area, blocking traffic to prevent further harm and ensure the safety of emergency responders and bystanders. Medical assistance was requested, and responders attempted to render aid to the woman. Although she initially refused medical treatment, her condition remained critical.
Due to safety concerns at the scene, officers requested body armor and additional units for traffic control and containment. Authorities also coordinated with nearby property owners to obtain access through a locked door believed to be relevant to the situation.
