Los Angeles, CA (March 17, 2025) – A bicyclist was injured in a traffic collision Sunday afternoon on northbound US-101 near the southbound SR-110 interchange in Central Los Angeles.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident occurred at approximately 2:43 p.m. Reports indicate that the crash involved a motorcycle, a dark-colored SUV, and a white Volkswagen SUV. At some point, a vehicle struck a bicyclist, leading to injuries. Emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) arrived on the scene to provide medical assistance to the injured rider.

The collision resulted in temporary lane closures as multiple vehicles remained stopped in traffic lanes. Authorities coordinated with tow services, and all vehicles were cleared from the roadway by approximately 4:05 p.m.

The CHP is actively investigating the crash to determine the contributing factors.

Our thoughts are with the injured bicyclist, and we hope for a full recovery.

Bicycle Accidents in California

Bicyclists face significant risks on California roadways, particularly in high-traffic areas such as Los Angeles freeways and interchanges. Despite dedicated bike lanes in many parts of the city, cyclists remain vulnerable to serious accidents when sharing the road with motor vehicles.

Many bicycle crashes occur due to factors like driver inattention, unsafe lane changes, or failure to yield. In collisions involving high-speed traffic, the severity of injuries can be substantial, leading to costly medical treatment and long recovery periods.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a bicycle accident, it is important to understand your legal rights. Victims may be eligible for compensation to cover medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages. Seeking legal guidance can help provide clarity and support during the recovery process.
